BLACK EARTH Michael Amott comment: “How to properly celebrate the 20th anniversary of ARCH ENEMY’s debut album “Black Earth” in a respectful and exciting way? I have given this matter a lot of thought. During ARCH ENEMY’s performance at last years Loud Park Festival, the current ARCH ENEMY band was joined on stage by original members Johan Liiva (vocals) and Christopher Amott (guitar). We performed three classic songs together and it was pure metal magic. The fan response was absolutely phenomenal and everyone on stage had a great time too. This excitement triggered what has now turned into a reunion of the late 90’s lineup under the new project name BLACK EARTH, a project that will focus on performing the music from the early years of ARCH ENEMY’s career. An extensive tour of Japan has now been booked, and I can assure you that we’re all very much looking forward to playing the “Black Earth” (1996) album in its entirety as well as selected songs from the “Stigmata” (1998) and “Burning Bridges” (1999) albums!
